Halloween Crafts is a gruesome collection of activities, recipes, and crafty makes. Disgusting beyond your wildest dreams, can you handle the horror? Grown-ups, get ready to cringe, this could be the most revolting book you have ever seen! Projects include: Dirt Pies, Cuts and Warts, Severed Thumb, Skull Pot, Dead Fly Pancakes, Chomping Monster Cookies, Slug Bath Bombs, Scurrying Chocolate Mice, and a Vampire Smoothie.
NAIL IN THE FINGER • This is a hilarious craft to fool your friends into thinking you have a really painful nail going all the way through your finger. Ouch! With some gauze and a little red paint, this looks surprisingly realistic.
SEVERED THUMB • This incredibly realistic thumb is really easy and quick to make, thanks to the wonder of plaster of Paris! Not for the faint-hearted, this project may make your tummy turn just painting it. Hide your digits around the house—under blankets, in the cutlery drawer… anywhere that will give some poor unsuspecting soul a rather unpleasant shock!
WITCHES’ FREAKY FINGERS • These freaky cheese straw fingers with pecan nails even have bloodstained ends to really give you the shivers! Don’t be too scared—it’s only ketchup.
MARSHMALLOW SKELETONS
SLIMY SLITHERING JELLIES
BLOODSHOT EYES • Eyes that stare at you can be scary, especially when they’re bloodshot, but these are harmless and good to eat! Fill boiled eggs with creepy green-colored yolks topped with black olives, and streak with food coloring to create your own eerie eyeballs.
CUTS AND WARTS • It’s really easy to make your very own realistic scab, cut, or wart. If you don’t have any face paint, then lipstick, eye shadow, and eyeliner make good substitutes. Just make sure you ask permission before using them! Make sure you use solvent-free, nontoxic glue for this activity, as it will be going onto your skin.
FROZEN HAND • This is a gory activity where you can conduct your very own postmortem examination. You can purchase plastic creepy crawlies online or from lots of stores around Halloween time.
WIZARDS’ TRICK-OR-TREAT CUPCAKES • The Halloween rhyme, “Trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat” is only three-quarters true for this recipe! Red velvet cupcakes are filled with either chocolate or blue cheese! Have a treat ready for those that are unlucky enough to bite into a trick cupcake.
BANANA GHOSTS
A BAG OF BONES
SAUSAGE MUMMIES • Everyone likes pigs in blankets, and puff pastry bandages transform these ones into ancient mummies. Will you choose to eat the head or body first?
SKULL POT • This eerie skull will look hauntingly happy on any shelf. It can be used as a pen pot or nightlight holder, and it glows in the dark to keep you company at night (if you dare!). You can buy glow-in-the-dark paint easily online or from craft stores.
GUTS FLOAM • This floam looks like a horrible bowl of guts! Ridiculously gooey, yucky, and stretchy, it is made with coconut and quinoa (which is less harmful to the environment than the polystyrene balls that are normally used in floam). Once you’ve made it, it will have a wonderful textured feel that is lovely to squish and squash.
DEAD FLY PANCAKES • You will be pleased to know that the dead flies are raisins! Top with ghosts made of heavy cream and chocolate for petrifying but yummy pancakes.
WITCHES’ HATS
VAMPIRE APPLE WEDGES • Cut the apples into four pieces and remove the cores. Cut out a wedge from each piece to make a mouth. Cut the mini marshmallows in half to make fangs and attach inside the mouth with a little smooth peanut butter.
GRUESOME GREEN MONSTER CAKES • Cakes and gory frosting are colored a gruesome green—these creepy creations will be loved by all little monsters.
TOXIC WASTE • This mini trash can is...
