A charming introduction to simple money concepts in which a bunny learns he can't buy everything he wants with his allowance! Sonny gets three whole carrots a week for his allowance and wants to buy everything with it! But he soon discovers his money won't go that far, and his mom tells him he needs to make some choices. That doesn't sound like much fun to Sonny, especially when he learns that the bouncy castle he's been eyeing goes for ONE HUNDRED carrots. Ridiculous! But eventually, after a little math and a little more thinking, he has a blast discovering what's really important to him and worth spending his carrots on.

Narrator Johnny Heller's youthful voice is a good match for young Sonny Rabbit, the featured character in a story that teaches kids how to handle money. When Sonny is faced with the decision of choosing how to spend his allowance of three carrots, not every one of his wants can be fulfilled. Heller matter-of-factly narrates the story's short sentences at a fast clip. As Sonny, he is emphatic about his love of Saturdays and his desire to buy everything he thinks of. Heller's uses an adult voice as Mother Rabbit encourages her youngster to think about what is REALLY important. She heaps praise upon her "smart spender" as he "boings" off to the store to make his happy purchase. An afterword provides information about the Moneybunny books.
