Stephanie Brush adds drama and style with her narration of this sensitively written Native American mystery. Taking place on the Wind River Reservation and mixing Arapaho spirituality, Jesuit Catholicism, and the beauty of Wyoming's windswept winter landscape, Cole's latest Father O'Malley and Vicky Holden's investigation is well plotted and builds to a surprising and sad denouement. Brush reads the male and female characters in much the same alto tone but manages to distinguish characters with phrasing, pacing and inflection. Her enunciation is impeccable, and her voice makes listening a pleasure. With Cole's well-drawn characters and Brush's smooth, clear reading, this combination should win many fans. S.C.A.
