These devotions prepared by Rhoads, the chaplain for Franklin Graham Ministries, were originally intended for the staff's morning prayers during Franklin and Billy Graham's evangelistic crusades. In other words, they were created for seasoned Christians who have already spent years studying the Scriptures. This makes the book a cut above similar devotional gift books, which are usually geared for the neophyte and tend to be superficial. Evangelical readers will appreciate the fact that although these reflections are bite-sized, they offer some genuine morsels to ruminate upon. It's not unusual for each small page to be peppered with five or six Scripture references. Many of the meditations are directed to individuals in positions of Christian leadership, making this a fine gift for evangelical pastors, teachers and worship leaders.
