      Narrator Kirsten Potter steeps listeners in mystery and wonder in Duvall's eighth Immortal Guardians story. Betrayed in battle, Stanislav is buried alive in Susan's basement and uses telepathy to call for her help. Potter's low, driving voice reinforces their need for each other. She gives Stanislav a light Russian accent as well as a deeply romantic sincerity. Susan responds to Stanislav's amnesia with a caring presence that translates well in the audio format. Over the course of the series, Potter has developed a cadre of secondary character voices with numerous accents that contribute to a memorable listening experience.
