Jim Frangione takes on the enormous task of narrating the third and final installment of the Scorched Continent trilogy. A host of characters includes Detan Honding, Ripka, Tibs, New Chum, and Honey, along with Thratia and Pelkaia, to name just a few. Their steampunk adventures intersect in a place called Hond Steading. Frangione narrates in dramatic tones, with most sentences bursting forth loudly and then dropping into inaudibility time and again. The tale twists and turns as a military coup and political restlessness take center stage. Frangione uses few accents, making the characters difficult to differentiate. Men and women sound much the same. If you like galactic adventure and steampunk, you'll find this adventure engaging but read the series in order or you'll be lost in the conspiracy.
